Resource Development Specialist

Full time position at DeKalb Office in the Child Care Resource and Referral Program

Job Responsibilites: Develop the supply of quality child care options in the areas served by 4-C by: recruiting new child care providers; providing technical assistance to individuals opening and operating a child care business; conducting outreach visits to child care providers with an emphasis on child care providers serving low income families; and presenting trainings on Health and Safety and other child care related topics.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas with a minimum of 18 hours in early childhood coursework- Child Psychology,/Behavioral  Sciences,  Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Family Services, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development.
Experience working in a child care setting as a family child care provider, center based administrator, or center based teacher or teacher assistant preferred.

This position requires occasional evening and weekend work and a current, valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Specialist

Job Responsibilities: Work with families to determine eligibility for child care financial assistance. Assist child care providers paid by the State of Illinois

Qualifications: Strong communication, organizational and computer skills. Minimum of Associates Degree or 2 years of customer service experience required. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Full time Bi-lingual Parenting Consultant

Job Responsibilities: Provide consultations with parents regarding child development, guidance and other parenting topics. Facilitate workshops and one-on-one instruction for parents of young children. Some evening work required. Candidates should be fluent in Spanish and English and have experience in working with diverse communities. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others and partner with families to foster meaningful, working relationships in support of the parent-child relationship.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Social Work, Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
